You were lucky, and you should give a piece of mind to the doctor who prescribed you this. Anyway, even if your tympanic membrane did not do the job your middle ear is a large space that does not let it pass. 1.5 cm long deep space for the drop to reach to the round window and get defused in.

@Bill Bauer The antibiotic tablets i'm taking are not on this list, however, the ear drops they gave me are! They contain Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates and Hydrocortisone Otic Solution, USP. So maybe I should stop taking these ear drops and the T would subside?

There are some old ototopical ear drops are ototoxic themselves, not logical at all, I know.. the one I used was neomycin based.

I got tinnitus and hyperacusis from Neomycin.

NSAID caused my tinnitus. I did have a bad tinnitus reaction to Doxycycline at one point as well. You might find the attached useful as a reference. I'm very careful to avoid anything ototoxic now. The side effects can be worse than the condition!

I'm assuming it is an outer ear infection rather than a middle ear infection. Neomycin eardrops should not cause a problem as long as your eardrum is intact. (Apparently even then, it is rare that eardrops will cause a problem.) This of course has the caveat that I am not a doctor....

Prednisone is often given to treat acute ototoxicity. It shouldn't make anything (in your ears at least) worse unless you get blood pressure spikes from it.

I personally wouldn't use this (but this is just my opinion). It's likely fine with superficial cuts but Neomycin is extremely ototoxic and can be absorbed systemically with deeper cuts.
