350 in there? My first car was a '82 Camaro with a carbed V6... it was horrible lol.

KITT's still got his original engine, atm — a 3.1 L V6. I planned to upgrade to a 350 someday. He has 100k miles right now. Had the car since 2002. Got it in high school (my first car). I first transformed it to a white KITT back then and later restored it to be show-accurate. I also got paint protection film on it. It self heals when rocks hit or it gets scratched — you'll see the "damage" disappear before your very eyes. So it's kinda like the TV show car in that respect, too. Your Camaro sounds cool. My mom had one of those when we were young.

I said I took up violin despite tinnitus in left ear. I use a foam earplug and seem to be ok so far. At least my tinnitus is okayish. Not sure about my playing but this is a long, slow journey.

What is your favorite violin song? Mine is "Nearer, My God, to Thee." It's the famous song that was played at the end of Titanic when the ship was making its final decent. It was played in real life during the sinking, too. I've always liked that one for its haunting qualities; its beauty / melancholy wrapped into one, capturing the essence of life itself — good and bad. I don't know many violin songs, though, tbh. It's just that this one always comes to mind when I think of violins.

You did a great job, it looks sharp! My Camaro was a complete pile. I was in high school and just got my driver's license with a few hundred dollars to my name. I came across a primer-gray 82 Camaro sitting in a farmers field. Offered him a couple hundred bucks and I took it home. Had to stop by Kmart and grab a ton of car care products to basically put lipstick on a pig, but she was all mine.

He had 74k miles when I got him and was well taken care of. And the exterior was in great shape, too. Interior didn't have one single tear or abrasion — and still doesn't. I was blessed to find a great car. Your Camaro still sounds cool, even though you say it wasn't perfect! I bet it was a fun ride and provided a lot of cherished memories.

LOL, it wasn't that loud and I was always wearing my musician's earplugs.

The only good thing I have been seeing in the last year is that a lot of kids use hearing protection and it seems parents are paying more attention to their kids' ears and that makes me happy.

Ya, those were throwback posts where I was celebrating and mourning the past; things I haven't been able to do lately. But I hope to reclaim them in the future. Thanks for the compliments. Actually, the reason I'm not working at NBC now is unrelated to tinnitus or hyperacusis. They relocated the hub to South Carolina and I opted not to go. I'm in Ohio. Wish I had gone, though. Perhaps I would've avoided this mess. They were trying to recruit for the Indianapolis hub here recently and I can't go because of my health. I'm sad because I would've gone — it's only a few hours away. I hope to someday.

I still take care of KITT with the help of family. Plus, as we all know, he's KITT — he can drive himself. So I let him do that from time to time. lol On a serious note, though, he is like the real KITT in some respects. He has paint protection film. When a rock hits the car or something scratches it, you'll see it heal before your very eyes; everything disappears. It's an amazing feat of technology and good for KITT because it's kinda like the TV show with the molecular-bonded shell. Here was them wrapping him with the film. Well if it's "looks" is the criterion you're going on -- and there could be others like convenience, price, trouble etc. -- I'd say that you look best without the glasses => that implies go for contact lenses? Of course that's another kettle of fish.

I once got a specialist to look at my eyes. I wanted to know should I go for that lasic surgery. He told me two things:

1) Don't go for the LASK thing, it's only for the younger set... you know, in your twenties or thirties. Maybe he was right there -- but you know, technology gets better as the years go by. Maybe things have improved since then.

2) He said that in two or three years I'd suffer from cataracts... and that was around eight years ago. So he was wrong on nr 2).

No, the fireworks didn't make my tinnitus worse. I got my tinnitus due to TMJ and neck issues. Not by noise. Noise doesn't seem to affect me but still I have good musician's earplugs and I was very far away. It was not loud at all because those were like the small types of fireworks, not the type of July 4. For those I don't go, just in case. I can modulate my tinnitus with any muscle movement. I remember I moved my jaw forward and that got my tinnitus started, I'm never going to forget that.

I got pulsatile tinnitus, then regular tinnitus in both ears, and then MEM/TTTS.

What did affect me was COVID-19. That hit me 3 weeks ago. It gave me a really loud tinnitus on my supposed good ear, and a new tone.
