Anyone Experiencing Changing Reactivity & Distortions?

Hard to tell but mine started when I was on tour and wore noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs inbetween every show - so it was either the shows (I played fully plugged) or the constant protection that sent things over the edge for me.

Noise Cancelling Headphones for Car / Bus Engine Noise

I haven't tried earbuds, but foam earplugs + noise-cancelling headphones is probably the best protection you can get when driving a car. It's also more comfortable than normal double protection as the noise-cancelling headphones do not sit so tight on the head.

Very Light Tinnitus Case — Are Noise-Cancelling Headphones Still a No-Go?

Yeah ok, it would be the music that is affecting you, not the noise cancelling IMO. So it can still be used to reduce noise only.

Very Light Tinnitus Case — Are Noise-Cancelling Headphones Still a No-Go?

Those active noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds do not provide 100% noise cancellation, and in fact, they are not even consistent across the frequency spectrum. Where I have used them effectively is when riding as a passenger in a car for a longer drive. I find that if I put some good foam...

    Rescue Protocol After Noise Exposure?

Hi, this is my protocol: 1. If noise exposure is over 120 dB, or if it has caused significant pain, muffled hearing, or much louder or new-onset tinnitus, contact your ENT or doctor. In some cases, it may be best to go to the ER or urgent care to discuss the use of steroids. Peer-reviewed...

Noise-Cancelling Headphones for Socialising — Dangerous for Hyperacusis?

I can't use earplugs, as I found I can't talk with them in. The occlusion effect or whatever it is is just too bad, and besides my ears start hurting pretty fast when wearing earplugs. It doesn't matter what type of earplugs they are. Earmuffs just lower volume too much, about 20 dB or more...

Persistent Tinnitus at 24 Triggered by Post-Surgical Medications (Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Gabapentin, and Oxycodone)
