Keflex is mentioned on American Tinnitus Association's Ototoxic Drugs list. Augmentin is not. I would go with Augmentin.

I am sorry that that had happened to you. One time I took Augmentin, and it gave me a huge spike. It is my understanding that Augmentin is a mixture of Amoxicillin and something else that's ototoxic.

Really sorry to hear that. Tinnitus makes standard medication seem like a game of Russian roulette. I’m on a cocktail of antibiotics. Luckily I’ve not had a spike (yet). I’ll finish the Augmentin tomorrow & Metronidazole in 9 days.

How do we gauge what antibiotics are most to least ototoxic? Do you have a list? I want to have a list in case I need them in future.

Well I can vouch for amoxcilin/augmentin duo - they aren't mentioned as being ototoxic afaik and I was on augmentin duo recently for an infection, was all good!

Cipro and Augmentin (which contains amoxicillin). Cirpo doubled the volume of my T and Augmentin doubled the volume on top of that.

Augmentin is safer, that's for sure.
