Hi, I don’t mind you asking I’m in my early 40s, clonazepam isn’t an ideal drug to be on at all but if it allows you to function and continue to work my philosophy is then it’s the only option in my case. Tough at your age but understand what it’s like to struggle so much.

Informed Consent: Say NO to an Acoustic Reflex Test

Be prepared for the ENT to possibly get angry too. I recently refused all tests during an ENT appointment because the doctor would not tell me what tests she planned to do, and she refused to avoid using loud ones. She basically told me that if I had tinnitus, it was my own fault for refusing to...

Informed Consent: Say NO to an Acoustic Reflex Test

The lady performed a Tympanometry test on me, and you are correct—it was not loud. I asked if she planned to do an Acoustic Reflex Test, and she said no. The whole process went smoothly. My hearing has remained virtually the same as it was two years ago. I still hear quite well for a 55-year-old.

I was able to enjoy music for the first time in 3 months. I felt like my inner child was alive again. These 3 months was one of the worst spikes I've had in my 13 years with T. I'm still at a complete loss as to what caused it, but I'm glad I've come out of the other side for now.

Hi @lostb1t, I developed bilateral tinnitus and slight hyperacusis after an acoustic trauma six months ago.
