I'm not the thought-police. No need for the disclaimer regarding your political standpoint. I personally think Hitler was right about a lot of things. Seeing an ENT for Eustachian Tube Dysfunction: Should I Decline All Tests?

If you have already had a doctor examine you and there is nothing visibly wrong, there is probably not a whole lot they can do. It’s possible the infection sensitized some nerve cells, which could be causing your pain. If you are sometimes able to equalize the pressure in your ears, I think...

Likewise, @Strife_84. I can be working an 80-hour stressful week or meditating for ten days, and neither has any impact on the constant whine in my head. That’s what made me realize this is truly a physical injury in my case, caused by acoustic trauma.

Rather Be Deaf: Tinnitus After a Stroke and Chronic Illness

Hello everyone, or anyone! I woke up one morning with a high-pitched constant tone, similar to what you might hear after a night at a club with loud music, except that usually fades within an hour or two. Back in 2007, I was diagnosed with a rare blood condition called polycythemia vera. Five...

Even if the middle ear is overly mobile and hurts a lot with sudden sounds, to the point where it feels like the bones are touching, I do not think that is safe. Please be careful with sudden sounds, as they can damage the middle ear, not necessarily the cochlea.

Well, one office I spoke to won’t see me unless I first take a hearing test in their clinic. I had one done six months ago in Canada, and my hearing is perfect. Symptoms: There’s pressure in my ear, and I’ve always had odd Eustachian tubes. I can yawn, and they get stuck closed. When that...

    Introducing Tinnitus Quest

"Why don't you get a celebrity ambassador?" It's a question we've been asked countless times over the years. And we've always had to explain: it's not that easy. Tinnitus isn't a "sexy" cause. It's invisible. Misunderstood. Celebrities don't want to be associated with it — and even if they...

I'm Fine — Tinnitus Is Basically Not a Thing Anymore

I do not think there is a clear answer to this question, as we all react differently to medication, stimulants, and alcohol. However, it is true that coffee and alcohol are often considered substances that can temporarily increase tinnitus. Personally, that has not been the case for me. Up...

I have what I would describe as medium to bad tinnitus in both ears—a thousand crickets, fairly loud. I do not take any medication, but I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with caffeine. Everyone’s tinnitus is different. I can only tell you what I did when I was in your situation.
