They had stopped to buy some canolli for desert that night before stopping in the middle of no where and shooting Carlo. Supposedly the "take the canolli" line was not scripted. Its just something the guy who played Clemenza came up with in the spur of the moment.

Loved the movie and the music.

 

God I love that movie so much. I remember the first time I saw it the ending made me almost tear up haha
