It's difficult to say. If it helps the pure tone side, then it would seem to have some benefit. Maybe try only using it on that side while isolating the bad ear from noise. Maybe just treating the one side will help distract from and calm the relative side. I use Oticon for sound enrichment...

I agree with @Johan001 and believe hearing aids should be worn because you could be exposed to loud noises anytime. Although I haven't got mine yet, my audiologist referred me to them. Good hearing aids block out loud noises.
