What's Your Favorite Movie?

I really liked The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, Nocturnal Animals, all Harry Potter movies, Pride, and Lord of the Rings

 

I love Robocop (original), A Nightmare on Elm Street, Phantasm, Die Hard, Fight Club...

 

A Streetcar Named Desire and Some Like It Hot. Also I like Laura because of Gene Tierney and its title music.

 

I love the early work of Michael Mann such as Thief (1981), one of the best crime-thrillers of the 80s and then my personal favorite of his, which is Manhunter (1986).
A fantastic and very chilling suspense/crime movie, where William L. Petersen deliver a powerful performance as Will Graham, a former FBI bloodhound who suddenly finds himself "dragged" back into the action, as the local police realizes they are nowhere close to stopping the gruesome work, of a new and terrifying serial killer, only known as The Toothfairy (Tom Noonan).

This film is so much more than just "the one with the other Hannibal Lecter" (Brian Cox), and deserve much better than that, and should be seen as a stand alone movie, not part of the more famous Lecter series starring Anthony Hopkins.
Manhunter is more of a crime/suspense film, that focus on the crime scenes and the work of Will Graham and how it affects him and his loved ones, instead of including several fast paced and scary scenes.

Rain Man would have to be in the top 5.

 

One of my many favorite movies was "Of Human Bondage" a 1934 flick which featured Bette Davis.

I just recently saw "Life of Pi" and thought it was a visually stunning with excellent portrayal of all characters.

 

Almost impossible to choose only one, but if I had to it would "Alien" (1979) it is absolute perfection and I will never get tired of watching it.

In general Im very much into horror movies

 

I do like movies but I'm a book reader and can't go too long without delving into a novel.
Favourite movies: 1960 The Magnificent Seven. 1958 The Long Hot Summer 1958 Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

 

Pan's Labyrinth for its mix of fantasy and reality in an almost psychological manner that tells a heartwrenching story about characters you really root for.

Same as @TheDanishGirl, the original Alien movie is my favorite of all time.

The Thing (1982) is also fantastic.

 

I love a good movie.... don’t think I’ve got a favourite as such.
I’ve watched Alien, Aliens and The colour purple multiple times and never got tired of watching them.
My guilty pleasure film has to be Sister Act

 

A 2008 French movie Martyrs is pretty memorable... As is Irreversible (2002). I love the ending of Irreversible - it reminds me of the days just before my acoustic trauma...

 

Those are movies I will never be able to watch fully , I remember watching the fire extinguisher scene on youtube - just the soundtrack made me sick to my stomach.

 

I wonder if a movie with a song like 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celine Dion would bring awareness to tinnitus. Tinnitus needs to be brought to awareness in more emotional ways. Even with a movie like the 'Notebook' after their afternoon in the rowboat with hundreds of ducks where if one of them said I have tinnitus. I think that the emotional impact factor of tinnitus done within a love story needs to be bought to the big screen. There's been a few movies that I know of such as Baby Driver and Saving Private Ryan.

From my experience over the years I found that about 3 of every 10 people don't know what tinnitus is. Then there's many that know that it's ringing in the ears, but not much more. I had a x ray done last year where the x ray tech never heard of tinnitus.

Resurrecting this thread to say how much I love La La Land. I watched it last night for the first time in a while and it's just so damn perfect.

 

Does it have to be anime? If not, one of my all-time favourite is Tripping the Rift (the movie as well as the series). Oh, and Deadpool, can't go wrong with that

 

Loved the Mexican surrealistic movie The Incident (2014).

 

I have a list of the top 5 and top 10 movies I've seen. I'm a complete movie buff and I've watched a lot of them.
But there are two movies tying for the top spot. So the best movies I've ever seen are:

Blade Runner (1982) and the Fountain (2006). I've got posters of both hanging in my apartment.

Aside from that I'm a pretty huge fan of No Country for Old Men and Master and Commander.

I both love V for Vendetta and The Count of Monte Cristo. Nothing beats movies that have a ''revenge is a dish best served cold'' element to it.
