Glad to hear from you! I'm sorry that it hasn't gotten better yet but I believe in you and an improvement! I pray for you and wish you all the best!
For my part it is already a little better but life is not at all what it was

Hi @dennis_me , only a sight improvement in light sensitivity. It is better but nowhere near as normal.

Regarding the other stuff - I still have visual snow and massive and numerous eye floaters.

Have you looked to make an appointment with an opthalmologist? Don't know if it's possible with your hyperacusis ?!

Unfortunately no... Still getting worse tinnitus weekly as well

@catchthebus , my tinnitus is very severe , reactive and it keeps getting only worse. I doubt I can make it better. It is already devastating. It does not only worsen with sound exposure. But also mechanically, when I touch my ear for example. It is ridiculous but that's what happens. It is really loud and I have more than 10 tones.

That truly sounds like a nightmare that just keeps getting worse. Hopefully, you can find some things to try to at least possibly take some of the edge off. If you never reached out to a clinic or something like that, it might be worth giving it a shot if you can afford it and you have nothing else to lose.

At any rate, I hope you can find something that works for you even if there is no cure, at least something that makes things even a little bit better or more tolerable for you. I’ll keep you in my thoughts! (when I’m not thinking about this horrible ringing sound in my brain )

@Freerunner I am sorry man. I am also in a really bad spot. I still feel trapped in a nightmare, like all of this happening right now seems surreal...

@DocTors_94 , I am sorry for you man. Do you have hyperacusis as well or only reactive tinnitus?

@Freerunner I can't say I think I have mild/moderate H but T might be reactive, sometimes just gets worse for no fucking reason? 4 months into this and I still don't know/understand this monster fully...

If I did not have crippling hyperacusis I would have been able to fight it. But it feels I lost the battle.

Doesn't your voice sound louder when wearing muffs? It does for me. Deeply inserted earplugs works better.

@Freerunner sorry man, I feel your struggle. I've lost everything too and I also suffer A LOT being homebound. We are young, we deserve our lifes back, at least with some berable T (or better not any T at all). I send you strengh.

@DocTors_94 Thanks man. I hope we win this battle. Tinnitus and hyperacusis in brutal scales are only a small minority. Unfortunately, I feel I am one of them. My heart goes with all the people suffering.

@Freerunner I had the same thing this year, but now, thankfully it’s stopped. Every time I took a step, it started. It was so annoying.

@Steph1710 , This is with me from Christmas Eve. After the spike I had then, it changed my tones and this one in particular became quite irritating . I wonder how can my tinnitus be that bad? I mean seriously - it has only been 4 months. How much time did it take for ours to go away?

@Wrfortiscue , I am not unfortunately . I was able to cope somehow when the H was not crippling. 1.5 months I am homebound. How about you? When reading your posts I was left with the impression you are holding it together. I hope your progress continues !

@Freerunner sorry to hear that you may just need more time. I am doing a lot better both habituation and T wise. Still need ways to go

@IntotheBlue03 not at all. I discontinued clonazepam after 10 days and left only with the deanxit. At least mood wise I am a little bit better I suppose.

So mood and anxiety is better for u? I’m wondering if I’m experiencing rebound anxiety from the Grandaxin. I was only on it for 3 weeks at this point and taking it twice a day in pieces. Hope I didn’t somehow encourage tolerance/withdrawal, I’m assuming that would be rare.

When i don't sleep though i'm losing it in maximum 3 days. And the biggest problem is reactivity and hyperacusis.

This reminds me of that scene in Jaws when they are comparing scars.

My tinnitus is severe, but my biggest issue is hyperacusis for sure because it keeps me homebound. I have many tones, I cannot even count them anymore.some of them either went away or changed pitch.

@Freerunner I had to give up on the idea of ever performing music live again. This has been my passion, career and entire life as far back as I can remember. But, I can either look at it as the end of my life or the beginning of something new.

I’m not done yet on this planet so as painful as it is to let go of everything I know and love, I try to choose every day to move forward into the unknown with the hope that answer to my new path will unveil itself.

It's still too early. Yes, i think there is hope. Don't give up.

Deanxit basically keeps me calmer so I think I am going to continue taking it. I am tapering of Clonazepam. It did make me go to sleep faster but that was it.

@Freerunner it just keeps you calmer or does it also lower T/hyperacusis?

@aura So far no effect in T and H. I just felt H might be better the first couple of days but this might be a coincidence/placebo.

@Freerunner getting worse too almost daily... Just no idea what to do. This condition is a joke... Doing really bad atm. So many regrets and desperation...

@Freerunner I hope it works better for u this time I have been taking it 3x daily and it’s cut my T in half. That’s based on a very old study for it reducing T. I’m also looking into Alpha Stim to further reduce anxiety, it’s supposedly as effective as benzos. There’s a thread or 2 on here about it from @Tybs @Lane about its efficacy.

I know u can get it without an Rx online if ur not in the stupid country of the USA. Hopefully it can help u. My heart breaks for all the severe T sufferers like urself. @Freerunner

The Grandaxin has helped and it’s only been a week since I’ve started it but I’ve had severe constant panic that’s coming down each day but would be great to supplement with a non drug treatment like the Stim to help get me functional again. Hope something similar can do the same for you. @Freerunner

ENT was clueless about T and did not know what H is. I was not surprised. He inspected my ear and found nothing. Why Is it muffed then, it hurts and I have a louder tinnitus???

@DocTors_94 I actually had that very same thought awhile back. I think that the problem would be muscles quickly atrophying. If only cryonics worked…

@Barry098 I wouldn't mind the muscle atrophy as far as it means no suffering from T... Wouldn't mind at all seriously...

I hear you @DocTors_94...have hope though, it does get easier with time...I promise. For me 6 months seems to be the magic number. Not sure why, but both times I have had screaming tinnitus, things started to become more manageable right around the 6 month mark. I'm about 7 months in now on my 2nd bout of T and I can feel that it is starting to lose its death grip on my neck...

@Stacken77 usually this is the case with me as well. However yesterday I did feel a little pain when inserting them but thought nothing much of it. But I am paying it now.

I am ordering an otoscope so I can check inside. I want to go to my ENT but I cannot afford it due to the severity of the hyperacusis. Bad thing is that tinnitus tones in my left ear are now much higher... May be 30 percent increase ...

@Stacken77 what kind of earplugs do you use please?

@guenguer , how long did it take you to get so many sounds? I am just 3 months in...

@Freerunner well it was stable and very mild the first 8 years, but after that just months, still worsening.

@Leila Johanniskraut worsened my VSS though.

@guenguer, thank you very much for pointing that out. I haven't tried St. John's wort myself. A friend of mine, who is neither a T nor H sufferer, uses it to battle his winter depression and reports that it helps him a lot. I guess, as with every new remedy, it's a bit of trial and error.

@Leila it's definitely an alternative to antidepressants, as usual results may vary :)
