There is some pretty good correlation with when I have had acupuncture. I will at times have one or two good days after acupuncture. This is not a given, but some months it’s almost always true and other months the acupuncture is not as effective.

Thank you for your reply. I must admit I was very hesitant about Alternative Treatments, but I am actually sure I had sincere relief by my chiropractor appointment on Saturday. My volume suddenly got lower, less screechy - so I will give acupuncture a shot as well!

I get relief from acupuncture. It lowers my volume until my stress ramps it up. Cranial sacral therapy helps too.

How many sessions of acupuncture before you started noticing improvement? Did you do general acupuncture or for tinnitus (ears only)?

Yes, I think the 64.5 percent for efficacy rate is way too generous, from personal experience and threads on this forum. 10 percent would be tops. Mixed with electricity sounds awesome, but it's not neuromodulation, the numbers seem way too high. I love acupuncture, but not for tinnitus.

@KMc24, Glad you’re doing better. Is electro acupuncture regular acupuncture needles with an electro-stimulator machine put on separately or something different?

I've been doing acupuncture again - looks like my current insurance covers it. I've also been doing self-acupuncture for specific muscles around my jaw (really 'dry needling', and not acupuncture in that case). I think that's a little nutty and don't encourage it, but have been enjoying it.

Acupuncture helped me lower my T, I have problems with stiff neck muscles and lowering the tensions with acupuncture and stretches lowered my volume a bit. Acupuncture is worth a try if you know you have a problem somewhere, like stiff neck muscles, or blood flow problem etc. But yes its hard...

I had the same experience in the early days when I tried this and Cranial Sacral massages. My tinnitus was quiet prior to the acupuncture, and my ears were screaming after.

None of these studies are blinded or have control groups. They're not very compelling as far as demonstrating that acupuncture does anything for tinnitus. If "laser acupuncture" has a 60% cure rate for tinnitus, I'll eat a hat.

My electroacupuncture was intended to help with T. I feel neutral regarding "standard" acupuncture but I strongly discourage the use of electro-a anywhere near the head. Simply not worth the risk in my book. I so wish I could take it back....yea, I know, join the group...Ha!
