    ...no need to race to it. One day years ago I had a big spike after driving without earplugs, so I attributed my spike to just that, but I've had similar spikes on days when I was earplugged up. Still my reluctance to drive long without earplugs remained for years. It's fine, take your time with it.

    @cyberspace To reassure you, I experienced spikes 4-5 times a week for eight years, but they always decrease. It's your nerve sending signal once it calms down, and so will your T. Lay off the salt. It will make a difference and work on your stress,sleep and anxiety, All will cause spikes.

    @Zigs I received my advice and therapy plan from the University of Michigan and had a hyperacusis test. Took around 9 months to get back to almost normal. Some noises can cause spikes but no longer painful. I don't live wearing earplugs anymore.
