Severely reactive T is absolute torture.

My T hasn't been reactive, and I confess to not paying enough attention when reading posts by people with reactive T. Hopefully someone with this type of T will be able to answer your question. You might also consider avoidance.

If you have reactive T/H I would consider giving LLLT a try instead. My reactive effects are mostly gone by 80% and it was quite bad a few months ago. Won't cure baseline T but habituation will be a lot easier once the reactive part is out of the picture. And sound quality better too

I'm not sure about trt with reactive tinnitus. I have the exact same thing as you. My T creeps up and over whatever might mask it to start. I stopped using white noise at night, I wake up with my T at baseline instead of ramped up competing with the white noise. I also find my H a lot better...

T gets worse from showers but not a restaurant and hours around friends. Makes me think it isn't noise reactive.

Not a definitive answer here but if your at is reactive then I would say most likely,a lot of noise induced T people experience reactive T,I don't think I've seen too many if any for that matter who had reactive T from anything else. I could be wrong,if I am then someone can correct me.

My low frequency t reacts to static sounds around the same frequency as my t - fans, traffic, generators, fridge etc. That reaction goes down as soon as the stimulus is removed however. Reactive tinnitus is defined as t that reacts, but stays reactive for hours after the outside stimulus is removed.

I have had my reactive T improve over time before. But I think there will always be some reactivity to it, just reduction over time. If it is linked to hyperacusis (notice most people with reactive T also have H) perhaps it can go away if H does.

Hi JLP, yes its been reactive since the beginning. But have hope as mine has become less reactive over the years. It took a least a year for me to start to notice and its important not to worsen your tinnitus during that time. Do that and improvement is very likely.

...My own theory is that the brain neural network basically is common to both ears. What starts in one ear eventually gets picked up by the other. My T ear is reactive. When it spreaded to the good ear, it is "somewhat" reactive too, but eventually becoming non-reactive. It takes time though.

It is extremely hard to "habituate" to something that severely limits you. Maybe non reactive T you can habituate...

Well the reactive part has for sure. As for my T in general it has gotten better recently...but I am also participating in a clinical trial so that may(is) have(ing) an effect on my T.
