Some people here have interpreted fleeting T as the body's attempt to recalibrate in an attempt to heal itself. This is consistent with T sufferers getting fleeting T more often than the healthy people. I remember getting fleeting T multiple times each day.

How to Stop the Progression of Mild Hyperacusis?

You might have just experienced fleeting tinnitus, which is completely separate and only lasts for short periods. It may seem much louder, especially if it’s a new sound. I will say, if you’re concerned about sounds as low as 30 dB, you’re already venturing into the realm of overprotection. I’m...

@SarahMLFlemmer 'Fleeting T' is a sudden temporary tone that can last from a few seconds to a few hours. Your ear usually goes temporarily deaf when these occur. No one truly understands why they happen or the purpose they serve (if any). This has lead many to guess/hypothesise.

Thanks for asking. Yes the spike seems to have calmed down. However - up until a few months ago, i had massive (extremely intrusive) fleeting tinnitus each day (5-10 times each day, and that was besides the normal tinnitus). The fleeting have returned, and hasn't gone away. This curse is so...

I Lost Hearing for a Moment and My Tinnitus in One Ear Suddenly Stopped for Hours

It seems to me that it was an episode of fleeting tinnitus or "SBUTT", where the fleeting tinnitus tone didn't start ringing at all, or it was so low in volume (essentially unnoticeable), or it got muffled quickly by whatever mechanism makes it start/finishes it. The clues that makes me think of...

Same, feels like I'm deaf before fleeting tinnitus. Interesting thing that my low hum does not go quiet during a fleeting tinnitus attack, that's partly why I think it must have a different cause than the regular tinnitus sounds.

I’m not trying to be anxious about it. As I’m sure you can understand, it’s hard to deal with symptoms that no one can pinpoint. It’s not in my opinion normal fleeting tinnitus, but maybe it is and I’ve just never experienced this type before. Go figure.
