Hey @SmallRonnie when you say both ears do you mean your T is central/head tinnitus or actually in your ears? Your T sounds similar to mine except mine is reactive and my hearing is perfect to 16k as well and a normal ABR.

I'm actually doing quite a bit better these days. I still have a moderate T and H baseline, but it's tolerable and much less reactive. I'm counting my blessings, but I know you're never truly out of the woods when it comes to this stuff. I do really appreciate you checking up on me. It means a lot.

@Guywithapug its insane. I don’t react to my faucet at home but my friends faucet? Absolutely insane how loud the reactive t gets. @Marshall my original T for 20 years was stable. This is something completely different that I had no clue could ever get this bad. I really take it for granted…

Did your T ever become less reactive?

@sakrt. I agree with climate change but either way you said "mix of autophony, hyperacusis which immediately ramps up reactive T" I'm going to pay more attn to. Not that it would lead to some great breakthrough but just mentally prepare myself.

Reactive T holds you hostage like that, unless you're OK with plowing forward into the hornets' nest.

My T is from neck and jaw issues and is reactive to noise. I've done PT on my neck and jaw with little help... Ur not far from me, I'm in Rochester NY.

Anyway,even though I struggled a lot back then it was a walk in the park comparing to what I have now. My T wasn't reactive and I didn't have H back then. Now I have around 6-7 tones.

I know there are many people on this forum who avoid silence at all costs but because my T is reactive to outside sounds, I actually do much better in total isolation.

I still use my crickets at night. As much as they don't block out the reactive T completey. I still concentrate on it enough to distract me from my ringing ear and I managed to fall asleep last night and woke up once in the night. Chamomile tea and lavender spary was also used.

Never get to quiet down. I try to mentally adjust. I cry and pray. I have a supporting woman for the 32 years. She is also my wife❤! I sometimes have reactive T I work through it. I pray for better treatments or cure. Hang in there.
