    Is Ambroxol something that can lead to dependency long term? Is it permanent relief and healing or just kinda like taking a painkiller? Ginger works for me like a painkiller but I haven’t found anything that genuinely heals your ears and strengthens them to prevent burning in the future.

    Sorry to hear about your struggles. You should see a specialist as soon as possible. You mentioned that it all started after a head injury. I assume you’ve had an MRI of your head and possibly your neck? What other symptoms have you experienced since then?

    It doesn't help with noise tolerance or hyperacusis. Only with the pain. It's an aching/burning pain that's reactive to noise. It gets my pain level to zero. No other meds. I titrate up and down. 100 mg for a few days, then 200 mg, to 300 mg, then back down.

    I have experienced both. In 2020 I could experience a burning sensation around my ear area in silence. The burning sensation hasn't really come back since November 2021. Sometimes I notice a very slight burning feeling but that is about it. I still experience direct pain from sounds.
