If you know you have hidden hearing loss then I wouldn’t be surprised if OTO-413 helped you. Unless all forms of hyperacusis come down to the new maladaptive synapses that attach to OHCs after loud noise.

Noise induced pain is going to cripple you if you do not cease from dangerous noise activities. This isn't a joke, a damaged cochlea can leave you with permanent burning ear pain from sound.

I still get the burning almost daily but it fluctuates rather than being there all day long. I thought I was doing better overall but my facial pain got significantly worse, loudness hyperacusis came back with a vengeance and my tinnitus is also at an all time high so I guess it was a trade off.

Burning pain feels like its burning like as if you burnt yourself. Maybe see another doctor and see what they say. I have gotten ear pain from clenching before due to my anxiety, so its not uncommon.

Have you even considered getting the surgery?
