I think that if you don’t experience any relief within 6 months, it’s nonsense to proceed with the device. It’s the same with Lenire. This is also valid for Neurofeedback. The doctors have always told me about this 6 month period. It seems to be some standard neurological treatment limit.

Isn't it strange that Lenire never explicitly required "somatic tinnitus", even though the University of Minnesota trials it was based on did require somatic tinnitus. Could that be why it doesn't work for so many people?

Regardless of what the studies say, there is still a chance of worsening tinnitus, in a similar way that Lenire is a complete gamble.

Lenire is pretty much a SCAM. If you are new to Tinnitus Talk, read this whole thread.

...protocol is worth a try. He's experienced and sees real-world results. A new thread under treatments is apparently being started by a member here. Similar to Retigabine and Lenire, real-world data can be gathered. This thread is for electrical stimulation of the ear, though. Not that I know of.

Neuromod had to be, it was the only way they could possibly make any money. If Lenire had come out after Dr. Shore's device, I doubt nowhere near as many people would take a chance on it.

I got an email from Lenire yesterday with the names and addresses of clinics in the area. They seem to be distributing the device fairly quickly. I just hope Dr. Shore's device gets out at the same rate.

Does Lenire cause you to feel sleepy? Why do you suspect that happens?

If you read the Q&A by Susan Shore, she specifies that there were no side effects (except a little discomfort from the electrodes at the beginning, until you get used to it) and that the worsening present in the graph was due to exposure to loud noises (such as concerts) during treatment.

Neuromod had everything in place already. Operations, marketing, production. Product in the box. Auricle has hardly anything yet. Again, I'd kill for it to be available asap, but people are constantly setting themselves up for disappointment re Auricle.

Also, don’t forget the sampling bias for one audiologist who will happily profit from selling it to you. Many people who are not on Tinnitus Talk will buy it, realize it doesn’t work for them, and put it in a cupboard forever. Sampling bias works both ways.
