How Does Stress Cause Tinnitus Spikes?

Might be a dumb question but I may be experiencing it at the moment. But how does anything but noise or some sort of damage to the inner ear cause a spike of tinnitus? I am now experiencing some tinnitus in my RIGHT ear for the first time ever (previously only had it in the left) after a spike...

A Year of Reactive Tinnitus and Severe Hyperacusis

That sounds like a bad case of reactivity if your own voice spikes it. The zaps sound terrible. I'd recommend you try a toothbrush with nano brushes; they make a lot less noise while brushing. Also, try to avoid chewy and crunchy foods for now. Cut up your food more to reduce the need for...

    Going Insane from Tinnitus?

Yes. I'm actually 2 months into a bad spike from a scream at a family board game. The spike was quite bad, but has faded 80%+ in about 10 weeks. I have had other spikes too and they all faded, but they are scary to go through.

    Natural Supplements for Anxiety?

How much L-Theanine do you take, and does it spike your tinnitus? I've read that it spikes some people's tinnitus because of its effect on serotonin. Does it give you any calming or anti-anxiety effect, which it is supposed to have? By the way, I read your success story, and it gave me some...

Your Attitude to Prednisolone with Spikes?

How many times have you been forced to resort to taking prednisone after the onset of tinnitus? Do you try to use this glucocorticosteroid for every serious spike? First Tinnitus Spike Since 2014 — From Having Mobile Phone on Speaker

I am not able to deal with my current spike anymore: I simply cannot get away from it and I am going crazy. Everything that worked with prior spikes is not helping at all. The only thing that helps is Valium, but that is not a solution. I have an audiologist appointment on March 12th: I hope...
