Any idea why Mexican food causes spikes?

Just curious, I've noticed others have posted that it causes spikes for them and am realizing (big Mexican lunch today) that it does seem to make my t louder for hours. What do you think is in that kind of food that would stimulate the brain?

That is not good, I don't know why medical personnel don't seem to be aware of the tinnitus risks of some drugs. Standard antidepressants made mine spike, so did the antibiotics I had to take. Good news is, the spikes weren't permanent. Hope it is the same for you.

    Tinnitus from Flu/COVID-19 — Looking for Hope/Understanding

Welcome to Tinnitus Talk. Don't worry too much about spikes. Most of the time, they will subside to baseline. You may not want to help trigger or prolong the spikes, as extreme anxiety will trigger the limbic nerves and turn you into the fight or flight mode of reaction, which usually makes...

Tinnitus Worsening Despite Hearing Protection and Quiet Environment

...below 80 dBA and wearing hearing protection, I really don’t think any spike would be permanent. Some sounds just tend to irritate our tinnitus. For many people, spikes occur a day or two after the noise exposure. I would continue monitoring the environment in the jewelry class with a dosimeter.
